Children deserve a childhood, not fighting experience. Children as young as eight or nine years old are being forced onto the frontline of a war created by adults. They are pressured to join armed groups by poverty or are abducted from their homes to build army ranks. Even if they are freed from this tragedy, they face serious community stigma and deep psychological issues.

I first learned about this crisis through the autobiography of Ishmael Beah, a child soldier who eventually gained freedom after a long period of pain and military brainwashing. The story has now moved me to declare the issue as the subject of a year-long project in my English class. I want my impact to expand past a school assignment into something more real, hence why I have decided set up and spread this fundraising page.
