To mark International Children’s Day, this briefing assesses the extent of the UK’s implementation of the recommendations made by the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child (CRC) when it reviewed the UK’s report on the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the involvement of children in armed conflict. It focuses on the conditions of recruitment of under-18s and on the risk they face to take part in hostilities.
